New Year's trip to Texas, y'all!!
I have been totally MIA this month. Sorry! It has been crazy since we got back from my dad's house in Texas. We had a pretty good visit with my dad and my stepmom, Suzan. It was very relaxing and also a bit fattening!! I think this week I've finally lost the last of the five pounds I put on in just that one week!! (I did thoroughly enjoy the food, though. Obviously.)
We arrived at my dad's on the afternoon of Lucy's 4th birthday so I was able to make her a cake. (It's a butterfly, if you couldn't tell)

New Year's Eve Suzan brought out all their kids games and we played for a couple of hours before we turned into mean parents and made them go to bed at nine. (It was for everyone's good, because let me tell you, they are NOT pleasant without sleep!!) The grown-ups made it to about 11:30 when we decided New Year's Eve was over-rated and went to bed too.
The last night we were there we set off fireworks. We were going to do it New Year's Eve, but, alas, it rained. My dad probably scarred Lucy for life when he set off a firework and it came zooming towards all of us and sent us running and screaming like little girls. She stayed inside after that looking through the window.
