The new little man

As most may know on Monday we welcomed our new baby boy, Eli Samuel Kentner into our family!!!  He was 8 lbs 2 oz and 20 1/2 inches long.  The c-section went pretty smoothly besides me getting sick to my stomach a few times.  Not the most pleasant feeling, but once I saw his beautiful face it all was worth it!!  We got out of the hospital yesterday and have just been enjoying our new family member.  He's not the best sleeper (at least at night!) as the last few nights he eats for about 30 minutes, falls asleep, we set him down, and then if we're lucky he stays asleep for about 30 minutes.  This lasts until about 2 or 3 in the morning when he'll sleep for stretches of about an hour or two.  Eli definitely likes being held!!  For the most part he's actually a pretty mellow baby.  You can tell he's gotten used to the noise level of the house because he sleeps through a lot of it.
Adjusting to having a newborn in the house again has taken a little getting used to.  The boys absolutely adore Eli, and Lucy has taken to her little mother role.  Poor Kate is adjusting a bit, but I think with a little time and a little grandma-love next week, she should be okay with the transition.  She's not really interested in Eli, but you can tell she's testing the waters a little more this week.  Kaleb has been able to take some time off of work (thank goodness!!) to help get adjusted and to give me some time to heal up.  He's done a pretty good job of staying on top of the housework and as always, keeps the kids well-entertained!  I'm still pretty medicated and definitely sleep deprived so it's a good thing one of us is working at half-way full (I think the sleep deprivation is starting to catch up to him too, poor guy).  So if our kids are dressed in unmatching clothes, or we're late, or we totally forget something, forgive us!!
