I'm still here

Okay it's been awhile since I've posted. Even my husband is bugging me about posting!! I've come to strongly dislike my background. I tried a different color but it's just ugly. I need some direction on where to find a nicer background. Oh well.
Observations this past two weeks
On Tuesday I got a call from Cy's principal saying he was in her office with another little boy. That statement alone strikes fear into every parents' heart. I hesitantly said okay and she said he wasn't in trouble but she was going to let him explain what had happened. So Cy gets on the phone and tells me one of his classmates colored on his brand new shoes with dry erase marker. Honestly I was relieved it wasn't anything serious. When he got home I discover that the marker is over the netting and is pink. The principal said that the childs' parents felt bad and offered to pay for new shoes. I feel bad for asking to be reimbursed, though, but Cy has refused to wear the shoes, so it might come to that. (Not that they were expensive shoes, less than $15 at Wal-Mart).
Abe's picking out his own spelling words. If he gets his pretest words right on Monday (which are pretty easy) he can pick his own words out of his science book. So this week he picked anemometer. I had to look up the def. in the dictionary, it's a tool to measure wind speed and force. Other words include kinetic energy, renewable resoures, atmosphere, precipitation, condensation, and several others that I don't think I would be able to spell in third grade. What can I say, he's definitely setting high goals. We also took him to the eye doctor this week and found out that he's going to need a slightly higher prescription and to wear an eye patch for an hour a day to strengthen his left eye. He was actually a little excited about the last part. I think he's looking forward to being a pirate. I have a feeling the excitement will wear off after a few days though. We'll see.
The other day at my playgroup one of the moms commented on how often she heard "Mommy!" and I thought Lucy really doesn't say that a whole lot. Most of the time it is "Hey mom" usually followed by "where are we going?"(If I had a dime for every time I heard that I would be a bazillionaire) even when we're not going anywhere. Most of the time it's followed by "can i come?" even if it's just to the bathroom. She really is quite a talker, but she needs to be to keep up with her brothers.
