Two posts in one day!! Wooohooo!!! Today was quite an interesting day. One of those days where you get the bare minimum done. Where the crusty layer on the kitchen floor that was there last night (and, okay, it might have been there for the day before that too) is still there despite the good intentions to finally scrub it away. One of those days where you intended to finally catch up with laundry but only got one load washed which is currently still sitting in the dryer, and the load that had been washed and dried and sitting in a laudry basket for the last two days got halfway folded and put away (the rest went back into said laundry basket for another chance tomorrow). One of those days where the only chores that got done were done by children in exchange for some computer time. (One of those days where doing housework is shunned in order to post twice on your long neglected blog.)
Today was also one of those days that could have been complete with a visit to the emergency room. I got a call from the boys' school nurse about five minutes before the end of school saying that Cyrus had been bent over crying and complaining of pain on one side of his stomach. The school nurse sounded very concerned and mentioned she didn't know what it was but it could be a myriad of things, including appendicitis. I decided to go ahead and pick him up at school just in case I needed to take him directly to the emergency room. Halfway there she called again and had me talk to him. I told him he should visit the little boy's room just to make sure it wasn't something benign, and that if he didn't feel any better when I got there I would take him to the hospital. Sure enough when I got there he was just fine. It turns out it was just gas!!!!! On the way home Cyrus suggested that I should become a school nurse. Maybe in my next life, Cyrus, maybe in my next life...

Having lots of gas is an inherited trait. His grandfather and Uncle both are acute gas passers...
