Kate's 2nd Birthday was a couple of weeks ago so we threw a little party for her. She knows the color pink so I made her pink cupcakes and we had pizza. Then for her presents I made her a little apron that she could wear to help out in the kitchen. She also has taken quite a liking to coloring lately. She has several notebooks and baggies of crayons around the house that she likes to pull out and start coloring on, so we got her a couple of coloring books. I've seen her plant herself on her belly and just start coloring for like 30 minutes at a time. (That's like an eternity for a 2 year old!). She's been fairly good at keeping the crayons on the paper, although occassionally I'll catch her trying to use them on other things! She is also into all things "Dora" and so we got her some little dress up Dora slippers that she loves. Kate is quite the personality. You can tell she is the youngest of four kids because she won't take guff from anyone!! She is also really sweet and loves cuddling with just about anyone. Lately, her new favorite word is yelling, "Honey!!!", especially when she's playing "mommy and baby" with Lucy. (Don't know where she gets that from?!) She has also learned "Quiet!!" which she likes telling her brothers and sister in the car, although it comes out more like "Twyyyiet!" (Another lovely phrase that she has learned). Kate is also taking in interest in going potty, although not regularly enough to stop wearing diapers. It is so amazing to see her little personality grow and develop!
