It's amazing how fast you forget all the stuff that comes with having a newborn! It is all coming back to me now! The hours of interrupted sleep, lack of sleep, the gajillions of poopy diapers (I know I changed 5 diapers in the space of an hour yesterday!!), the soreness of nursing and recovering from a c-section (can you say OUCH!!), getting peed on while changing diapers (it's not true that girls don't spray as far!!).
Luckily all these things are wiped away when you look into the eyes of a newborn, when she snuggles up into a little ball when you hold her, when you feel her tiny hand wrap around your finger, when you are able to comfort her cries by just holding her. It makes you appreciate God and the small, but at the same time, giant, miracle, that a new baby is.
