Ranting about politics

Did anyone not watch the vp debates last night. I have to admit I missed half of it, but what I did see I liked. I don't think it was quite as decisive as most people thought it would be, and I think it also helped demonstrate what editing can do to a person's credibility. I, honestly, was very worried how Governor Palin would handle the debate, especially following the debacle of the Katie Couric interview. I didn't see the whole original interview but the sound clips I caught made Gov. Palin really look incompetent. However, I thought that last night she definitely held her own. I really think it was a toss-up on who actually won the debate. I think it all depends on who you were leaning toward in the first place.
In other politics, this whole bailout plan is driving me nuts!! I can't believe the Senate actually approved the bailout bill, I can only pray and beg that the House has more sense! I think it is the wrong thing to do, and I still don't understand how it will fix the looming financial crisis. To (uneducated) me it's like an indulgent parent rescuing their out of control child. The child (banking industry) will never learn responsibility if every time they mess up monumentally (lose billions of dollars) the parent (big brother government) writes them out a check to bail the child out of trouble. I believe if the bill is passed that this crisis will repeat itself again, except on an even more devastating scale. I already emailed my representative telling him not to approve it! Okay, now I am stepping off my soap box!
