Labor Day Weekend!!!

This weekend we went to my mom's in the Springs. I love going there. She always cooks the best food and we get to do fun stuff. This visit was no different!! We left Friday since the kids were out of school and stoppped in Pueblo at the Colorado State Fair. We were a little dissappointed. The last state fair we went to was in Missouri and it took us about five hours to see almost everything. It only took us about two hours at the CO and they didn't have a whole lot of different exhibits. We might have gone at a bad time too, though, because a lot of the animals had been packed up. But it wasn't too bad. They had a really cool area where the kids could actually fish for real fish in a gigantic aquarium. All of the kids caught a fish. Abe's fish flopped out of the tank onto the ground and then Abe pulled the line and fish back into the tank. Pretty funny! We ate some giant greasy corn dogs and had funnel cakes and ice cream. Yum!! The boys had money to spend so we stopped at a very extensive candy booth and let them go to town. We also saw Kary, Sharee, and Lucy's boyfriend, Colton there!
Then we drove to the Springs and my mom's house. Saturday morning Kaleb and I went to the temple in Denver. My mom, meanwhile got the kids ready to go to a waterpark in Denver. When Kaleb and I left the temple we met up with my mom and the kids at the waterpark, Pirate's Cove. It was a pretty cool park. Not ginourmously huge, thank goodness, but it had a big area with a water playset for little kids, a sprayground,a lazy river, an older kids and adult pool, and three big waterslides. We all had some fun and thankfully it warmed up to about 90 degrees that day. We left around four and when we got home we fed the kids and put them to bed. A friend from high school and his wife watched the sleeping kids while my mom took Kaleb and me out for dinner at this great restaurant called the Elephant Bar. Very good food and the restaurant had a cool safari/exotic theme to it. We rolled our stuffed selves home and then on Sunday went to church and had another great dinner of ribs!!! Monday we hung out, played wii and then headed home. Today I have accomplished basically nothing. It's amazing how vacation and doing nothing wears you out!
