I SURVIVED!

Well, another thanksgiving has passed without bodily harm. Yay! There was a close call between one of Kaleb's sisters and his mom where strong opinions and yelling was involved but it stopped short of blows. It was a little exciting, I have to admit, especially since I wasn't involved. It's always much better to watch than to participate! There were even extra people there with my sister-in-law's sister and her kids AND her ex-husband. A little awkward but not too bad. Did I also mention that there were a couple of missionaries too? In all there was close to fifty people for Thanksgiving dinner!

My favorite part of the meal is the family tradition of the eating of the corn nuts. Every year before we eat we pass around a bowl of corn nuts. Each person takes one and tells what they are thankful for. It ranges from being thankful for the gospel and family (usually the most popular) to food (everyone is starving by this point) and clothes and warm houses. This year I was thankful for all those things, but especially the Atonement. I am comforted by the knowledge that Jesus Christ loves me and very grateful for that knowledge!
