1. He doesn't like to throw ANYTHING away. Cy: Mom, don't throw that oatmeal container we can use it to make a robot (and he means a REAL robot, so if anyone has instructions on how to turn an oatmeal container into a robot let me know)
2. The other day he wanted to bicycle to where we were going instead of driving the van so we wouldn't make more pollution, which would have, admittedly saved a ton of gas and money and pollution, except for the fact that we were making a forty mile round trip. I'm pretty sure even HIS legs would have been tired when we reached our destination a week later.
3. He suggested we convert our gas guzzling van into a solar powered or electric powered vehicle. My knee-jerk reaction to this comment was "Okay....???" Luckily I listened a little more and he explained to me that he knew how to do it, you just put a big battery in the back seat and then take out the gas tank and hook up the car to the battery. He went into a little more detail and I was actually very impressed at how reasonable it sounded. So I told him when he got a little older (like maybe at least ten) I would let him change over the van to battery or solar powered. (And I actually might, but maybe more like when he's at least in his twenties though).
4. The last thing Cy pointed out to go green was that (in his own words) "Farts make air pollution"
So here's to at least one way we can all cut back on "emissions"
