Weird mom confessions

Do you ever have one of those days where it seems like everything is out of whack. I seem to be having a lot of those days lately. I was watching Oprah the other day when it was about secret confessions of moms. Some of them I could totally relate to, but others were a little wacky...like admitting to pee in one of their kids diapers because they were on a long car trip, the kids had fallen asleep and she knew if she stopped they would wake up. That one's a little extreme (although I'm sorry to say if I had thought of it I might have been tempted to do it too). I have a few confessions that I would like to make too about motherhood, like how I absolutely HATE:

-the backaches, pain, nausea, and uncomfortableness of pregnancy
-potty training,
-poop,
-vomit (especially when it lands on me and before they turn about 4 almost all of it did/does),
-giving baths (yes, that's why my kids smell a little rank, at least, until they like to take showers),
-mornings (I am NOT a morning person),
-stretch marks (when they finally find a cure for it I will gladly shell out thousands of dollars!),
-saggy boobs that come from nursing (I estimated that I've breastfed for a combined five years so far, and it's definitely taken it's toll, thank goodness for push-up bras!!!)

It is so amazing that women gladly go through these things time after time. The reward such as:

-the first time you hear your baby say mommy (it's just the million times they say it afterwards that gets a little annoying)
-the hugs and kisses (those are the best)
-the times when your child says "I love you"

All these things and many more make up for the downside. Some days I have to make a conscious effort to remember to count my blessings, especially when those "blessings" get older and you realize what a short time you have when they are still young enough to depend on you.
