As you may have noticed I never got past day three of my goal of a weeklong blogging frenzy. Oh well, it's summer. Cut me some slack because I'm going to cut some for myself. I've been trying to load the pictures from our Grand Canyon trip but they are on a cd from walgreens and it never works right. Maybe I'll try again. Maybe not...
The last couple of weeks has been mercifully slow. Not a whole lot of activities going on. Kaleb took the boys to Missouri to clear up some of his dad's stuff so we are having a girls' week. Yesterday I took Lucy to the dentist where she needed to have a couple of cavities filled (yes we have already established my bad parenting skills). They put nitrous gas (laughing gas) on her because she was getting a little antsy in the chair while they were cleaning her teeth. When they did the fillings she was all nice and relaxed and looked like she was about to doze off. Then when we left the office I could tell the effects of the gas lingered for about another half hour. She was VERY happy and just talked and talked and also kept bursting out in laughter and giggles (I know why they nicknamed it "laughing" gas. It had me laughing at her.)
Tomorrow she goes to get her cast off. I'm guessing they will x-ray it and maybe put on a new cast??? I don't think they would leave on a cast for only two weeks?? However if they do forego the cast I will be very grateful for the end of the dirty and questioning looks I receive when I take her out. I should just make a shirt for her saying, "My mom does not beat me". I've ALMOST gotten to the point where I don't even think about the cast, and I think she's definitely healing well. I've caught her a few times in the last couple of days banging her cast on purpose against stuff so I'm guessing it feels better (athough I really wish she wouldn't do that. OUCH!!!!)
