Last week was a true doozy. Tons of fun, but lots of stuff happened. It started with Stake Conference on Saturday and Sunday, complete with a visit from a General Authority, Elder Kikuchi. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, the whirlwind started the week before when we took a day trip to Denver to go to the temple. We ended up getting home at almost two in the morning, and almost running out of gas after discovering that most of the gas stations in podunk towns close after 11pm (go figure!?). We had a miracle occur when we drove THIRTEEN MILES after the sensors told us we had 0 miles to empty (I was praying REALLY hard!!!) The day before we took our day trip to Denver we found out that our landlord had decided to sell the house we are renting. So after the trip to Denver we went to the bank and began getting our financial stuff together to get preapproved for a loan. So last week while the kids were on Spring Break we:
1. Went house hunting
2. Celebrated our 14th wedding anniversay!!! woohooo!!!
3. Put in an offer on a house
4. I took the kids on a day trip to a State Park for a refreshing hike then to the playground
5. Went to the library twice
6. Went to Denver again and while we there we:
7. Went swimming
8. Went ice skating
9. Kaleb visited a friend in the hospital
10. Found out the house contract fell through (long explanation!)
11. Almost got totally lost in a blizzard in the mountains when we left the highway in search of a "shortcut" (KIDS: Don't leave the main road in a blizzard, even if your smart phone is telling you that traffic is at a stand still for the next forty miles!!!!! Duh!)
12. Went to the temple again!
13. Got our tires rotated at Sam's Club
14. Visited my "best bud" from Junior High and High School and discovered we still liked each other!
15. Drove home with constant updates on Kaleb's smart phones posting NCAA updates
So, needless to say, I need a break!! It was so much fun, though. Even almost freezing to death in blizzard-like conditions "somewhere" in the mountains!
